A 15 page essay on 'how' the filmmakers of Atomic Café, The Russia House, Dr. Strangelove, North By Northwest, Failsafe, The Manchurian Candidate and other films presented their views on the Cold War. The writer contends that through cinematic device, some of the first films spoke out against the Cold War, and leadership or technology in particular, while others were effective propaganda in support of the US Cold War ideals.
